Catherine Ferentini, O.D.

Dr. Ferentini started her schooling at Mercy College in Dobs Ferry, N.Y. From there she continued on to the University of Houston, College of Optometry where she graduated on 1987. She became Chief of Optometric Services for CIGNA Healthplan of Houston and was honored Clinician of the Year in 1993. Upon moving to CT, she became Clinical Director of Robbins Eye Center. After providing her services there for 7 years, she brought her skills to Kensington in 2005 and Vernon in 2007. Dr. Ferentini is the sole owner of Visual Perceptions Eyecare, LLC in Kensington and co-owns Visual Perceptions Vernon, LLC in Vernon with Dr. Aube.

Susan Evans, O.D.

After obtaining a Magna Cum Laude double major B.S. Degree from Houghton College, Dr. Evans completed many graduate level courses at UCONN’s Human Development and Family Relations dept. For several years, she was a Fiduciary Administrator for a large N.Y.C. Law firm at One World Trade Center. Dr. Evans obtained her Certificate of Competency in treatment and management of ocular disease in 1993. In 1995, she obtained her Doctorate in Optometry and the Dr. Fredrick W. Brock Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance in Vision Therapy. Dr. Evans did externships at West Point Military Academy and Castlepoint V.A. Hospital and received her Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents Advanced Practice Certificate in 2002. She has been employed by and owned a variety of commercial and private optometric and ophthalmological practices in New York, Washington, and Connecticut including Nolan Eye and Laser in Farmington. Her special interest is in researching how nutrition and supplements impact ocular health and vision. She joined Visual Perceptions in 2009 because they deliver the highest quality patient care, latest technology, and excellent opticians, technicians and support staff.

Peter Staiger, M.D.

Dr. Staiger is a graduate of New York Medical College and has been practicing Ophthalmology since 2001. He completed a one year internship in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, and completed his Ophthalmology residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York, where he was Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Hunter College in New York City, graduating Summa cum Laude, and was awarded the Jonas Salk Award for undergraduate research in the Life Sciences. He joined the Visual Perceptions team in 2010.

Laura

Laura has been in the optical industry for 28 years and has been licensed for 23 years. She was a regional director of operations for a major optical retailer and has been a member of the Kensington practice since 2009.

Ashlee

Ashlee has been providing her billing and customer service knowledge to the Kensington practice since 2007.

Melissa

Melissa has been a part of the Visual Perceptions chain since 2006. She has been a member of the Kensington practice since 2009.

Shirley

Shirley has been in the optical industry for 16 years and has been licensed for 11. She provided her services for a major optical retailer and joined our Kensington practice in early 2010.
