Robert W. Aube Jr., O.D.

Dr. Aube graduated from Boston College in 1988, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with a B.S. in Physics. He obtained his Doctorate in Optometry in 1992 from the New England College of Optometry. He served as the National President of the American Optometric Student Association from 1991-92, and started practicing at Rocky Hill Eye Associates after graduating. Dr. Aube started Visual Perceptions in 1997 in his home town of Rocky Hill, where he currently lives with his wife and four children. In 2000, Dr. Aube was named Connecticut’s Young Optometrist of the Year, and in 2009 he received the Best of Rocky Hill Award for Optometrists. He continues to be an active member of the community, supporting local youth sports and organizations. Dr. Aube is the sole owner of Visual Perceptions, LLC in Rocky Hill and is the co-owner of Visual Perceptions Vernon, LLC with Dr. Ferentini..

Catherine Ferentini, O.D.

Dr. Ferentini started her schooling at Mercy College in Dobs Ferry, N.Y. From there she continued on to the University of Houston, College of Optometry where she graduated on 1987. She became Chief of Optometric Services for CIGNA Healthplan of Houston and was honored Clinician of the Year in 1993. Upon moving to CT, she became Clinical Director of Robbins Eye Center. After providing her services there for 7 years, she brought her skills to Kensington in 2005 and Vernon in 2007. Dr. Ferentini is the sole owner of Visual Perceptions Eyecare, LLC in Kensington and co-owns Visual Perceptions Vernon, LLC in Vernon with Dr. Aube.

Susan Evans, O.D.

After obtaining a Magna Cum Laude double major B.S. Degree from Houghton College, Dr. Evans completed many graduate level courses at UCONN’s Human Development and Family Relations dept. For several years, she was a Fiduciary Administrator for a large N.Y.C. Law firm at One World Trade Center. Dr. Evans obtained her Certificate of Competency in treatment and management of ocular disease in 1993. In 1995, she obtained her Doctorate in Optometry and the Dr. Fredrick W. Brock Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance in Vision Therapy. Dr. Evans did externships at West Point Military Academy and Castlepoint V.A. Hospital and received her Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents Advanced Practice Certificate in 2002. She has been employed by and owned a variety of commercial and private optometric and ophthalmological practices in New York, Washington, and Connecticut including Nolan Eye and Laser in Farmington. Her special interest is in researching how nutrition and supplements impact ocular health and vision. She joined Visual Perceptions in 2009 because they deliver the highest quality patient care, latest technology, and excellent opticians, technicians and support staff.

Peter Staiger, M.D.

Dr. Staiger is a graduate of New York Medical College and has been practicing Ophthalmology since 2001. He completed a one year internship in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, and completed his Ophthalmology residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York, where he was Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Hunter College in New York City, graduating Summa cum Laude, and was awarded the Jonas Salk Award for undergraduate research in the Life Sciences. He joined the Visual Perceptions team in 2010.

Angela

Angela has been a Licensed Optician for 6 years. She started her optical experience for a major optical retailer in 1999 and joined what soon became Visual Perceptions Vernon in 2004.

Laura

Laura started her optical experience in 2005 with a major optical retailer and has since acquired her certifications as a Paraoptometric Technician and a Certified Optician. She has been a member of the Vernon team since 2008.

Malvin

Malvin graduated from the Optical Dispensary program at Middlesex Community College in 2007 and has been a member of the Vernon practice since 2009.

Maureen

Maureen has been in the optical industry for 16 years, servicing 2 major optical retailers. She joined the Vernon practice in early 2010.

Waylida

Waylida completed her schooling at Branford Hall of Windsor, CT in 2009. She has since joined the Vernon Team in 2010.

Terry

Terry has been fitting contacts for 13 years and has been licensed for 11. She joined the Vernon team in 2010.
